Bev handcrafted it using the traditional copper foil method, with each piece of glass carefully selected, cut, and soldered by hand in the studio. The soft iridescent white petals have a lovely swirl of subtle colour running through them, which is paired with a textured bright yellow centre and little yellow accents between each petal for contrast and impact.  The solder details on the flower centre is textural, adding dimension and focusing interest.  This coupled with the centre glass gem gives the flower its own personality and adds a further luxurious feeling to the piece. The background is a wonderful swirly, textured glass that catches the sunlight beautifully—especially when hung in a bright window. It is framed with a decorative soldering and added yellow ribbon for easy hanging (and a little extra cheer). This piece measures about 22cm square and is polished and waxed to help it shine for years to come. Because each one is made by hand, no two are exactly alike—each has its own little personality. Stunning on a light coloured wall as an art piece, or in the centre of a window to bring the garden indoors or as a privacy screen.
