Discover the joy of hands-on learning with our half-day taster and full-day workshops at our welcoming home studio in Langtoft, South Lincolnshire. Our courses are exclusive for your nominated individual or couple - for a personalised and enjoyable experience. Our workshops are perfect for beginners and those with some experience in woodwork or stained glass.
Both of us (John and Bev) are experienced trainers, and are committed to providing a relaxed and informative environment where you can learn by doing. You'll leave our workshops feeling accomplished and equipped with new skills.
In addition to our standard workshops, If you're looking to deepen your knowledge and confidence in copper foiling stained glass, we also offer regular one-on-one sessions. These tailored lessons focus on the areas you want to improve, helping you to hone your skills and gain confidence. Contact us to learn more and book your tailored session.
Enjoy a day learning about the copper foiling method of stained glass and create a beautiful sun/lightcatcher at our home studio in Langtoft, PE6. You will be guided by Bev to confidently cut and grind the glass from a choice of patterns, foil and solder your pieces together and finish your piece with your choice of patina and polish and hanging ribbon. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided through the day. Allow between 5 and 6 hours for this course. Once purchased we will arrange a mutually suitable date with you. Join us for a full-day course where you'll craft a stunning set of bookends, combining both woodworking and stained glass techniques. Under John's expert guidance, you'll use a variety of woodworking tools to create the bookend bases from a choice of hardwood. These bases will be ready to receive the stained glass panels you create with Bev's assistance, using one of our Art Nouveau or Art Deco-inspired patterns.
Personalise your bookends by selecting glass from a range of colours and transparencies to complement the wood. We provide a light lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Celebrate Spring all year round and enjoy a half day making an arrangement of 3 stained glass tulips, set in a handsome Oak or Sapele wooden stand (approx 25cm h x 12cm w). Makes a lovely present! (mothers day perhaps? or a present to yourself for that matter!) You will gain experience of cutting your tulip flowers from your chosen glass, grinding and foiling the glass, soldering and finishing them with wire stems. All with instruction and help from Bev and John Chappell. Allow between 3 and 4 hours for this course. Light refreshments will be provided. During this fun half day taster workshop you will make a set of 3 stained glass Easter eggs from a choice of designs. Guided by Bev you will cut and grind the glass, foil and solder the pieces and finish the decorations with a choice of hanging ribbons, all ready to hang from your Easter tree or window, or give as an Easter gift. During this festive half day taster workshop (who says you cant celebrate Christmas all year round :), you will make a set of 3 embellished 'Christmas Tree' tree decorations. Guided by Bev you will cut and grind the glass, foil and solder the pieces and finish the decorations with a choice of hanging ribbons ready to hang from your Christmas tree.
